Cesaral Anti-G, by César Alonso

The anti-gravity water trick is a classic magic effect that every magician, especially those who perform for children, should have in their repertoire. With this trick, you can create a stunning illusion where water seems to defy gravity, staying suspended inside an open, upside-down bottle!

The Cesaral Anti-G has some significant advantages over the traditional gimmick:

 * It's thinner and fits perfectly over the bottle's mouth, securely attaching without coming off, even if you shake the bottle.

* The conical shape of the gimmick makes inserting a toothpick into the bottle very easy, eliminating the struggle to find the hole, an improvement over the original gimmick.

* When placed on the bottle, the conical shape makes the gimmick invisible, eliminating bad angles and the risk of people seeing the flatness of the old gimmick.

My favourite effect:

My favourite routine involves three volunteers. One stands beside me, and the other two sit below the magician and the standing assistant. I take two full bottles of water, and the standing volunteer chooses one. I take the remaining bottle, and we both take a sip. Then, I slowly tilt the bottle, making a few drops spill onto the volunteer below, who nervously copies my actions. Now, the magic happens!

I turn the bottle upright, cover the mouth with my hand, and without removing it, I slowly turn the bottle 180º, asking the volunteer to do the same. When I remove my hand, the water stays suspended in the bottle! To add a magical conclusion, I show that the bottle isn't sealed by placing toothpicks into the bottle from below, watching them rise to the top.

For added excitement, you can use a bucket instead of having a volunteer sitting below the magician's assistant. Load slush powder and confetti inside the bucket, creating a complete routine. At the end, throw the "water" into the audience, revealing a shower of confetti instead. This routine is filled with fun and audience participation!
