Effect:

The spectator selects any card from the French deck, and the Magician takes the four cards from the deck that have the same number. The spectator then selects and holds the red or black ones, and the Magician the remaining two. Up to six different times, and with “in-crescendo” levels of difficulty, the spectator alternates his cards with those of the Magician, but at the end of the magic pass the cards of the same color are reunited (this separation is by analogy what happens when you mix water with oil…). The fourth time the cards are shuffled the Magician will put a bracket on the 4 cards in the place chosen by the spectator, but even under these conditions the cards are separated by color.

This effect can even be done with a borrowed deck (Great for doing it to Magicians…!).
